At Mitchell’s, we’ve built something simple: healthcare that feels like home.

What started as a single pharmacy in 1992 has grown into a full healthcare team — providing both pharmacy and primary care services — while still keeping the personal, small-town care that made us who we are.

Whether you visit us for a prescription refill, a sports physical, chronic condition management, lab work, or wellness services, our mission stays the same: to take care of our patients like family.

Serving Neosho and the surrounding communities, Mitchell’s has grown to multiple pharmacy locations, a full-service Direct Primary Care clinic, and a full team of professionals — but at our core, we’re still your local hometown healthcare team.

Our History.

Our pharmacy group started out with one store – Family Pharmacy of Neosho, which began operation in 1992 as R&R Medical, owned by Phillip Rozell. At that time the pharmacy consisted of three employees: a pharmacist and two technicians. In 2003 Tim Mitchell purchased Family Pharmacy from Mr. Rozell and began expanding the business. Mitchell’s Uptown Drug Store was established in 2004, Advantage Health Care (Now integrated with Mitchell’s On The Boulevard) in 2005, and Mitchell’s Downtown Drug Store in 2013. With these expansions as well as the original Family Pharmacy store, Mitchell’s Drug Stores now employees over thirty individuals and several licensed pharmacists.

    Tim Mitchell, RPh

    OWNER, PHARMACIST

    Family Pharmacy’s growth is rooted in the leadership and vision of Tim Mitchell. His journey with the company began in May 1997 when he stepped into the role of Pharmacist in Charge. At that time, the pharmacy operated with a small but dedicated team of three employees: one pharmacist and two technicians.

    In 2003, Tim purchased Family Pharmacy and began expanding the business with a clear focus on serving the community. Country Care Pharmacy opened in 2004, followed by Advantage Health Care in 2005, marking an exciting season of growth and opportunity.

    Tim has always believed that the key to a successful pharmacy lies in building meaningful relationships and maintaining a genuine concern for patients’ wellbeing. Those connections, paired with outstanding customer service, continue to shape the culture and mission of the organization today.

    Tanner Mitchell, PharmD

    PHARMACIST

    Tanner Mitchell is a Clinical Pharmacist at Mitchell’s Drug Stores, a family owned pharmacy proudly serving the community since 2003. He graduated from the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Pharmacy in 2022, a milestone that marked both a personal achievement and the continuation of a family legacy. Joining Mitchell’s allowed Tanner to follow in his father’s footsteps while bringing a fresh perspective to patient care and pharmacy operations.

    As Pharmacist in Charge, Tanner is focused on finding thoughtful, creative solutions that enhance patient care and overall well being. He leads initiatives in social media and patient education, helping ensure Mitchell’s Drug Stores remains not only a trusted healthcare provider, but also an accessible and supportive partner in each patient’s health journey.
